"There is no silence in a place where people live",is a project that started after the area that i grew up in, got burnt by a fire in the summer of 2018. This is the latest video of this project, and it deals with the consequences -or better say- aftermath of a disaster in the life of a community. What is the saddest element of such a disaster? It takes different shapes as time passes after the event. In the beginning it is the visual changes, the fact that the most familiar place in the world becomes unrecognisable. However later on, as time passes, perspectives change; it is the fact that there are no people living there anymore, it is empty and silent. The subject is portrayed visually by shots of ruins and images of reminiscence of the people who lived there, such as empty yards and destroyed homes. All that accompanied by a casual narration of memories, realisations and insignificant small stories of the life of this community.
